Hardcover Book in Very Good Condition. A biography of the author's father. Clean, tight, unmarked. Clean rust cloth covered boards with blind stamp of a hut on front, gilt lettered on spine. Lower corner is bumped. Fore edge and lower edge rough cut. Interior is clean, unmarked, untorn; pages toned. Very nice book. 302 pages. 8vo. 1936, John Day Book/Reynal & Hitchcock
Synopsis
Pearl Buck wrote this biography of her father, an American missionary in China. Renamed Andrew in the book, Buck's father was sent out to China in 1879 just after graduating seminary school. He spent much of his time there translating the Bible into the various forms of Chinese to extend the reach of the mission.
