About This Item

Chicago: Daily Workers Society, 1925. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Chicago: Daily Workers Society, 1925. Political/Historical Ephemera; the rear cover, only, from the March, 1925 issue (Volume IV, No. 5) of the Workers Monthly magazine, published out of Chicago by the Daily Workers Society at that time. Quarto in size, Very Good in condition, small chips around the perimeter and a small light stain near one lower corner, which shows on both sides. Certainly frame-able, as an interesting political and historical wall piece. See scans. The inside of this rear cover bears the headline "Fight the Capitalist Prosecutors !" and seeks donations to the Labor Defense Council in Chicago, at that time engaged in defending (from deportation, by then) C.E. Ruthenberg and more than 30 other participants in the 1922 "Bridgman Convention" and its ensuing legal wranglings. The outside back cover advertises titles by The Little Red Library, a series published by the Daily Worker Publishing Company. See scans. This is one piece of ephemera you won't see again. L-eph
