A detailed commentary on important historical battles from across the world, including: Marathon, Arbela, Chalons, Hastings, Orleans, Blenheim, Waterloo, and more. Written by Sir Edward Shepherd Creasy, an English historian and jurist. Bound by Bickers & Son, Leicester. Bound in full red calf. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine with minor loss to the head and tail. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the endpapers. School prize plate tipped in to the front endpaper. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Bound by Bickers & Son, Leicester. Very Good
