London: J.M. Dent & Sons Ltd., 1941. 4th Impression, 1951 . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. The interior of the book is clean and fresh, with very few signs of previous use. The green covers are bright with light wear only to edges. The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with light edge wear and chips to the corners and to the bottom of the spine. The top of the spine has a small piece missing. The attached scan shows this in detail. A very attractive copy. The jacket is now in a protective mylar. Synopsis: A small girl is sent to Ireland to stay with her grandfather on an island in the west, while her father goes off to America to make his fortune. Ethne is stranded in Dublin, but is befriended in the large-hearted Irish way by a delightful and brilliantly drawn family....
