Orig. calf, red morocco spine label. Nicely rebacked at an early date, with the original spine laid down. Armorial bookplate of the Earl of Guilford. First English translation of this historical romance centered around The Shah of Persia (1487-1521) and his court, originally written by the "celebrated" Madame de Gomez (1684-1770) in French, and printed in 1727.
