"Jón Stefán Sveinsson (16 November 1857, near Akureyri - 16 October 1944, Cologne) was an Icelandic children's writer and member of the Society of Jesus. He left Iceland in 1870 for France, where he converted to Catholicism. His children's stories concerning a character named Nonni are well-known in Iceland and parts of Europe. His childhood home in Akureyri is now a museum and he has featured on postage stamps." Wikipedia "Jón Sveinsson was born at Modruvellir, Iceland. He and his brother were raised there and in Akureyri, where their childhood home has been turned into a museum, Nonni House. Sveinsson, writing under the name of Nonni, drew on his childhood experiences to write twelve books for children that have since been translated into at least 40 languages. His first, Iceland Flowers, was published in 1906, his last, Nonni's Voyage Around the Globe, appeared posthumously in 1949. He left Iceland to study in France, the momentous decision being made on July 31, 1870, the feast of St. Ignatius. As a Jesuit he taught in Copenhagen, but eventually gave himself full time to writing and to lecturing around the world about his native Iceland. For many decades the Nonni books stand their ground on the child and youth book market. His first work 'Nonni - Erlebnisse eines jungen Isländers, von ihm selbst erzählt' (Nonni - experiences of a young Icelander, told by himself) in the Herder Publishing House has been printed since 1913 in one million copies. It has been translated into forty languages." ("Jón Stefán Sveinsson (16 nóvember 1857, nálægt Akureyri - október 16, 1944, Köln) var rithöfundur og íslenska barna og meðlimur félagsins Jesú. Description:
1880 1ed Dairy Farming by Sheldon Agriculture Cattle Color Illustrated Milk Cows

John Sheldon's 'Dairy Farming' is one of, if not the most important late 19th-century British treatises on farming and maintaining dairy cattle. This book covers a variety of topics including how to breed dairy cows, feeding with plants and weeds, milking, how to sell and trade milk, as well as the milk and dairy industry in various countries including America and Canada.

While the contents of this work are important, accurate, and still viable, the color illustrations are without question the most desirable aspect of this book. Illustrated with 25 chromolithographic plates of cows, barns, and farm plans.
