No DW issued. xxxii, 649pp. Large folding map, torn along a few creases with no loss but worn to edges, coloured lithograph, sl. foxed, 26 plates - incl. 1 fold-out - (all present as called for) + engravings and diagrams to text. Original illustrated green cloth gilt. Extremities sl. worn with corners rubbed and head of tail sl. frayed. Recased with new endpapers. Gift inscription dated 1878 to half-title. Prelims foxed with occ. light foxing and spotting to other pages otherwise a clean and sound copy. VG.
