About This Item
Random House, New York, 1963. Quarto, hardcover, pages beginning to tan at edges else near fine in lightly edgeworn white and colored pictorial dj. 132 pp. The book contains three cartoon stories, two dialogues, one fable, and a one-act play---the entire work covering for the first time the full spectrum of the author's talent. He begins with a Gothic Fable, illustrated in color, which tells the story of Excalibur and Rose: He, a funny little man in search of his serious side; She, a grave, lovely girl in search of perfection. There are other equally funny stories in this book. Feiffer has always been considered one of our best cartoonists writing, and certainly the best writer cartooning.
