Tall 8vo, cloth with gilt lettering on spine and top cover, 54 of 78 plates, [x], 325-495. Some wear at the extremities and joints, a bit of aging and foxing, but plates are generally bright and clean. Edward Step (1855-1931) was a naturalist and author of several books on nature.His works ranged from insects to flowers, and his Favourite Flowers of the Garden and Greenhouse was probably his most well known work. Originally published in 13 parts in 1896 this collection contained 316 very attractive color plates. Often, this title comes in a four volume set.
