NY: Henry Holt. Dixie Willson, best known for her story "Honey Bear" that is included in this collection, compiled 21 stories that were the favorites of celebrity children. Some of the stories were retelling of episodes from famous books such as The Scarecrow of Oz & Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, one is a child's own tale retold by Willson who wrote brief forewords to each story. The story "Epaminondas" is reprinted but author Sara Cone Bryant's name wasn't used. There are b&w photos of all the children w/their signatures & b&w illustrations by Millard. Slight wear to the spine ends & faintly off-white page borders but overall an excellent, clean copy. Dixie Willson was the sister of "Music Man" composer Meredith Willson. OUT OF PRINT. . Near Fine. Hardcover. First Edition. 1938. 1938.
