Dust jacket has a couple of small chips and a minor scuff on the front; flap is not price clipped ($4.50) but does have old bookstore price written in pen; now in new removable protective cover. Red boards quarter bound in black cloth, with white print on the spine. Black end pages. Pages are clean and unmarked. Viking hard cover with dust jacket, first edition, first printing May 1968, 184 pages, cover art by Mel Williamson. 8vo (5.5"" x 8.25"") No statement of subsequent printings on the copyright page, as is the practice with this publisher for first editions. This is the 43rd Nero Wolfe book, preceded by Death of a Doxy, and followed by Death of a Dude.
Synopsis
The Father Hunt is a Nero Wolfe detective novel by Rex Stout, published by the Viking Press in 1968. "This is the first Nero Wolfe novel in nearly two years," the front flap of the dust jacket reads, "an unusual interval for the productive Rex Stout, who celebrated his eightieth birthday in December 1966."
