Ex-library book has usual stamps, stickers, writing, markings, card holder. DJ has been covered with a clear mylar jacket (Image of actual book). DJ has some bumping, rubbing on the top, spine, edges, corners. Outer edge have tanning, browning, stains and foxing. This is the story of the St. Francis Boy's Home, located in Western Kansas. Boys whom no one wanted, and for whom there was no place to go except jails or state correctional institutions. These boys would live with Robert Herbert Mize, Jr "Father Bob" with no fences, no walls, nor in any way be segregated from the community. The boys would live there would attend the public schools, mingle with the local young people, play on the school teams, date the local girls, and share in every respect in a normal life of the town. He pioneered a great Christian experiment "public life" program, unique in their high rehabilitation rate. It's a story of fulfillment of that dream and demonstration of the power of faith. 1963.
