New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1969. This cult novel of boxing life in Stckton, California, became a film directed by John Huston. Not a common title. This is a Very Good (minus) copy of the Second Printing (stated) of the Fisrt Edition. Speckled paper-covered boards with an orange cloth spine; titling in black and white. Clean text; 183 pages. Previous-owner signature on the FFEP. Lightly bumped, with cello tape residue evident on the covers. The dustjacket is unclipped; edgewear and chipping to head and foot of the spine. Better than a Reading Copy, but not for the advanced collector. In an archival plastic protector.. Second Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good (Minus)/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
