Marbled endpapers with handsome bookplate of Hughson Hawley on verso on front pastedown. Binding is tight, pages are clean. Lacking 3 of the 4 maps called for in the map pocket; only the 22.5" square "Chart of North Polar Regions" is present, in Fine condition. The eight colored plates are all present. . Original publisher's cloth with gilt front boards, gilt spine lettering and gilt to the top edges. Bookseller's ink stamp in each volume in the lower inside corner of front endpapers. Light scuffing and rubbing to the cloth but generally a very good clean set in tight bindings.
