New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. [c.1881-1890]. Hardcover. A collection of poems by Michigan's Will Carleton (1845-1912). The poems share the common theme of American rural life, and are accompanied by dozens of engraved black & white illustrations by various artists. This work follows the author's earlier "Farm Ballads" and "Farm Legends." Though bearing the original 1881 publication date, this edition was possibly published later in the 1880s. --- In brown bevel-edge cloth-covered boards with elaborate gilt-stamped illustration and titling to cover; gilt-stamped spine titling and brown endpapers; AEG (all edges gilt). --- With a little wear to cover edges & retailer's markings to endpapers; otherwise a tightly-bound, sound, well-preserved copy.; Tall Octavo - 9 to 10 in. tall; (8), 167, (6, ads) pages .
