Pamphlet, 8vo, illustrated portrait of author,dbd, 29 [1] pp. Disbound, signature at top of title, some ninor foxing. Early Newark imprint of s sermon by Edward Dorr Griffin (1770-1837). Giffin was born in East Haddam, Connecticut, and was a graduate of Yale College. Griffin served as pastor in a number of churches in Connecticut, Massachussetts, and New Jersey. In 1815 he became pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church in Newark. He would also help found the American Bible Society, and played an important role in the Foreign Missionary Society. theosource website. Shaw 17630
