Black cloth boards lightly soiled by possible mildew. Edges square, corners sharp. Gilt lettering on spine. Top-edge heavily foxed, fore-edge scattered foxing. FFEP and RFEP completely removed. Very minimal foxing, some ink stains and prev. owner annotations to pages. Very slight “old book smell”. Binding tight. A first edition with a clipped DJ that exists as an important reference text for naval scholars. History
