Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean, with clean illustrated endpapers - no names, writing or marks. Beautifully illustrated by Diana Thorne. 336 pages. Scarce dust jacket is clean, not price clipped (3.50 on front inside flap), has small shallow edge chip at base of rear panel, several short closed edge tears. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. The heros of these 25 tales and sketches include not only dogs of questionable heritage. The aristocracy is also represented by the Russian wolfhound, spaniel, white West Highland terrier, sheep dog, bull terrier, Alaskan Malamute, and many others. Nice, collectible first edition..
