About This Item

Random House, 1957. Second Printing. Hardcover. Very Good Plus/Very Good. 8x5x1. Douglas Gorsline. This is a stated Second Printing. One of the Scarce titles in the Wonderful Landmark Series. Vintage Hardback Book with Dust Jacket. Inside text is in Very Good Plus condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. Inside text appears to have had very little use. This is an ex-Catholic School Library book from the Notre Dame High School in Utica, New York but it appears to have had little use. It does some of the expected library markings, but they are not excessive. Outside cloth covers are nice with some minor corner wear and some clear tape remnants where it appears the Dust Jacket was attached at one time. Dust Jacket is in Very Good condition with some edge chipping primarily at the top of the outside spine and the top of the front cover. Dust Jacket is NOT price clipped (195/195), and is overall very nice. Dust Jacket is now covered by a new clear mylar cover. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting. World Landmark Book #30. In The Fall of Constantinople, Bernardine Kielty has brought to life the fascinating history of one of the greatest, most fabulous cities the world has ever known.
