Binding is cream-coloured cloth with drawings in mustard-yellow; corners slightly bumped, edges slightly worn. DJ has illus. in yellow & red, edges chipped & worn, small tears at top of spine. Illus. endpapers. "Illustrations by the conquered. Text by the conquerors." Text is from Bernal Diaz' account of the conquest of Mexico by Hernan Cortes. Illustrations are from Aztec drawings of the period. An interesting collaboration and an attractive book in vg overall condition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
