About This Item

London: Collins. Good+ in Fair dust jacket. 1954. Reprint. Hardcover. Charmingly illustrated boards with black titling on a red cloth spine. In the original publisher's illustrated and price-clipped dustjacket which has some edge wear to the extremities and a few closed tears which are now neatly repaired to the inside of the dustjacket with clear archive tape. The dustjacket has some internal foxing (brown spots) and some light smudging to the covers. The first few front and rear pages are sunned, the page fore-edges are uniformly tanned and the pages are lightly tanned, otherwise No Inscriptions or other Marks. 128 pp. Lovingly illustrated in b/w and colour by Doreen Baxter. Overall, apart from the 'faults', as detailed above, this is a tight and secure, 'Good' copy. "Here is a completely new presentation of stories from Grimm and Anderson, specially selected and illustrated for young children. The best-loved of the familiar stories are here- 'Snow White', ' Hansel and Grethel', ' Rapunzel', 'The Little Mermaid' and other favourites- all of them generously illustrated in line by Doreen Baxter who has also drawn the six beautiful colour plates." ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall .
