About This Item
New York: Fair Play for Cuba Committee, 1961. Newsletter. A total of 18 newsletters from the FPCC, generally 4 pages each, 8.5x11 inches, very good. Several have "Pro-Castro" penciled in the corner. Issues present for Fair Play are vol. 2 nos. 6-8, 10-16; issues of Student Council (aimed at campus activists) are vol. 1 nos. 1, 3; vol. 2 nos. 1-5. There is also an extra combined edition dated January 13, 1961. Several issues have enclosures such as leaflets and a petition. Also included is a one-page mimeographed Newsletter no. 6 from the New York Chapter. Extensive coverage of Fair Play for Cuba Committee activities promoting ties with the new Cuban revolutionary government and opposing US efforts to blockade and undermine Castro. Includes condemnation of the Bay of Pigs invasion of 1961.
