Walter Brown in his preface states 'It was my intention to have attached a Moral to each Fable, but on consideration decided not to do so, as it is not complimentary to the reader, who often would draw a much better Moral than would be generally added.' 68pp printed letterpress to decal edged wire laid paper, decorated with wood engravings by Thomas Bewick together with illustrative drop capitals from various sources.
