John Gay (1685 - 1732) British poet and playwright; this is an illustrated edition of his fables. Approx. 4 5/8" x 7 1/4" size; bound in 20th century oatmeal linen cloth, brick-red morocco leather spine, contrasting spine title-labels, gilt, modern marbled endpapers. Spine labels in thick leather and the structure of the binding has the appearance of a skilled better-than-average amateur effort. Light rubbing and wear; very good condition.. Later Edition. Leather. Very Good.
