About This Item
London: C. Whittingham, for J. Johnson, B. Baldwin, F. & C. Rivington, etc., 1808. Full Morocco. Very Good. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. xvi, 228 pp. 6.5 by 4 inches. 70 intricate copper engravings, one per fable, plus frontis and title portrait. Green morocco, ornamented with Greek key band, five raised bands, etc. is healthy (not dry or cracking). Some starting, even minute separation, of upper front board, holding well by dint of old, not particularly deft repair, of tape band by endpaper hinge. Some other rubbing and wear. Corners bumped or with minute loss. Interior has some minor chips and wear, and per normal, age toning, but overall clean and tight. A very lovely copy.
