Macmillan & Co. Ltd. London. 1894. FIRST HEIGHWAY EDITION, Large paper issue. One of only 100 copies issued. Large 8vo. (10.5 x 7.4 inches), With notes and an index. Beautifully illustrated throughout with over 100 fine engravings by Heighway. Tissue guard to the frontis. Some minor offsetting to the blank endpapers otherwise a fine and clean copy throughout. In the original publishers burgundy cloth binding with printed paper label to the spine. The spine is a bit faded but this is still a lovely copy of this scarce volume. With an attractive Art Nouveau bookplate of Christie Chetwynd Atkinson, decorated and illustrated with two women reading, by M.C. Fisher, dated 1902, on the front pastedown endpaper.
