About This Item
London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1909. Limited edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 25 tipped in color plates by Detmold, pages issued unnumbered. This copy has been neatly resewn and recased in the now-rebacked original white cloth which is lettered and decorated in gilt. The hinge portions of the endpapers are neatly replaced with narrow strips of white binder's cloth. 31 cm. Most of the original backstrip, unevenly browned with gilt lettering dulled, has been mounted on the new backstrip. This copy of the book benefits aesthetically from having its darkened backstrip mounted on tan cloth. Corner bumped on front cover. The hinge portions of the unevenly browned endpapers have been neatly replaced with narrow strips of white cloth. 29 cm. Internally otherwise almost as new. No slipcase. Copy No. 334 of an edition of 750 copies, NUMBERED and SIGNED by Detmold.
