The best known children's book of the Sanford Florida author and illustrator (1886 - 1956), written in an African American dialect, about a young black boy named Ezekiel. 8vo, unpaginated. Many full color illustrations inserted into the lines of the story itself. Green cloth backed, over illustrated paper covered boards, with title in black and red. Illustrated dusty jacket, title in black and red at front cover, no title at spine. Dj dusty, spine rubbed, slt chipped. Gift inscription dated 1938 at ffep.
