The first edition, first impression of this novel, in the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.The work of American author Frances Parkinson Keyes, this novel details the marriage of an absent explorer and his aristocratic Virginian wife.Signed by the author on a bookplate to the half title, dedicated to Paul Gallico, an America novelist. This work was acquired from the sale of Gallico's library. Gallico was a prolific writer, but is perhaps now best remembered for his 1969 novel 'The Poseidon Adventure', adapted into the successful 1972 motion picture. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. Minor mark to front board, with bumping to spine head. Cloth binding otherwise exceptionally bright. Edge wear to head and tail of dust wrapper back strip. With small closed tear to head and tail of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Signed to half title. Pages clean and bright. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
