Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. 480pp, with two fold out illustrations, as called for. A handsome volume in near condition containing one of the most important early accounts of the people and animals of equatorial Africa, including one of the first accounts of the newly-discovered gorillas, relflecting du Cahillu's adventures and explorations in western Equatorial Africa in the 1850s. Collector's and gift quality item.
