Foldout frontispiece map of America. Foldout maps opposite pages 40, 64. Three foldout end maps. Green cloth boards with gilt titling to spine. Rubbing to extremities. Four fingerprint-sized white stains on top and bottom of back cover. Frontispiece map (13 x 6 in.) is "North America" (map by Cary, 1806). Interior foldout maps display Western America's rainfall averages (5.75 x 6.75 in.) and Western America's drainage basins (6 x 5.5 in.). Endpaper maps show Northern and Southern Trancontinental Routes (13 x 10 in.), Central Transcontinental Routes (15 x 8 in.), and Interior Basin and Routes Across the Sierra Navada (14 x 8 in.).
