London: Jonathan Cape, 1967 . First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8" by 5.5". None. The first edition of this spy novel by Len Deighton in the original dust wrapper. First edition of An Expensive Place to Die by Len Deighton in the original publisher's binding and unclipped dust wrapper. The novel is entitled after an Oscar Wilde quote "Dying in Paris is a terribly expensive business for a foreigner". Set in Paris, it is the fifth novel of the 'unnamed hero' series. In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent. The dust wrapper is slightly worn to the extremities with a few minor tears. To the binding, there is some slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and light marks to the front board. There are a few light spots to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some slight aging. Near Fine
