About This Item

New York: Dorset Press, 1989. New Edition 3rd Printing. Hardcover. New/New. Filled with B&W era photos, maps, plans. CONDITION: UNREAD 1989 Dorset Press hardcover (grey boards) & dust jacket, first edition Dorset, 3rd printing. Filled with B&W era photos, drawings, maps, plans. CONTENT: Drawing on the archaeological evidence and the written records from the period of the Spanish conquest, Kendall has painted an evocative and rounded picture of their daily routine and ritual occasions, including feasts, games, and sacrifices. She highlights the remarkable approach of the Inca emperors to town planning and describes the construction of their homes, palaces, temples and fortifications, and the organization of work forces for farming, building and fighting, as well as the education of children, the responsibility of adults and care of the aged. While this is an older book, the observations and research are still in good standing with modern findings.
