About This Item

Corte Madera, California: Pomegranate Publications, n.d. c.1970s-1980s. [1]p. Illustrated Broadside or Poster. 25 x 19 inches. Offset Color Lithograph. Some creasing; a few surface abrasions and crease marks; brief foxing; very good.

Inspirational poster featuring a photographic portrait of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. against a rainbow-like background.  The poster was designed by Carol Livingston.  A quote at the top of the poster from Dr. King's seminal "I Have a Dream" speech, delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, simultaneously evokes the stirring patriotic song America ("My Country, 'Tis of Thee") by Samuel Francis Smith: "From every mountainside, let freedom ring!"
