Clean hardback tightly bound in full brown leather with gilt titles to red spine panel, 5 raised bands, spine is a recent professional replacement, original frontispiece missing, contemporary engravings pasted down to front & rear pastedowns of new endpapers, some browning to page edges, 2 pencilled drawings and a name to the rear blank endpapers (could be erased if thought necessary), inked note (dated 1807) in margin of page 313, otherwise no inscriptions. ii + 498 pages, index. A sound & very attractive copy of this much-reprinted gardening classic .
