Beautifully designed, deep green binding features six borders - one with stylized design, all in gilt. Illustrations and lettering in gilt. Four raised edges on spine, with stylized illustrations. All edges in gilt. Satin moiré endpapers, satin page marker, 653 pages. The acid-free book paper is a special paper stock by Franklin Library, made to archival standards. Condition of binding: Minor rubbed/scuffed areas on gilt edges from shelving and handling, else overall pristine, fine. Text is clean, clear, and readable. Line drawings are vivid. A fresh, never read copy. Collector purchased book from publisher and kept it in a temperature-controlled book case. Free of old humidity smells or the smell of a cigarette or cigar smoker. In gift-giving condition. The publisher, Franklin Library (a division of Franklin Mint), published collectible books of high-quality materials. Since the publisher ceased operations in 2000, all editions are considered out-of-print, many uncommon and highly collectible.
