Biography and catalogue of the architectural production of architect Eugene Joannon (b. France 1860 - d. Santiago 1938) in Chile. One of the most important contributions of modernist architect Joannon to Chilean architecture is his understanding of the geographical and earthquake conditions of the country, implementing for the time new French technologies and developments into the design and construction of large buildings. He applied innovative mechanics of materials, he was a pioneer on reinforced concrete, in using blocks between floors, and of all 20th century modernity ternds that in Chile were accelerated by the (1906) earthquake of Valparaìso. "Because of the earthquakes, buildings were constructed lower, but after the use of reinforced concrete, its height began to increase. Printed outside of commerce.
