About This Item
Londres (Paris), 1767. First Edition. Hardcover (Full Leather). Very Good Condition. Contemporary mottled calf, small stain to rear board, front hinge cracked and a little tender but holding, corners bumped. Bright internally - page 92/3 with a tear to the margin just touching some letters but not affecting sense. Old note on title page referencing a 1779 brochure and with two old notes in in a similar hand laid in. Engraved preface. (12), xii, 408pp
Graslin is most famous for savaging the ideas of the physiocrats just before the birth of classical economics, but also advanced important ideas on taxation, the value of non-agricultural labor, and the intrinsic value of objects ( "increases and decreases with the needs of man, and disappears with him"). The imprint is almost certainly false - likey printed in Paris. Size: Octavo (8vo). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Economics; Antiquarian & Rare. Inventory No: 047119.
