Numerous black and white full page and text images. xvi + 179pp. Japanese traditional style binding with multi-coloured ribbon ties, vibrant purple pictorial silk covered boards, pictorial endpapers, prior owner name on the front free endpaper, corners a little rubbed else a near fine copy, in the original dustwrapper which has had some restoration. 43.5 x 28cm. Folio. This remarkable work includes articles on the interpretation of the enthronement and the various ceremonies of the accession followed by articles on related subjects by Japanese and European scholars. .
