The autobiography of Joan Rivers, to the time of the publication of the book, of her childhood, obsession with becoming a stage star, and, of her apprentice years as a stand-up comedian (despite doubting parents and hostile audiences), then, to be invited on the Tonight Show hosted by Johnny Carson, and in one night, became an overnight sensation.
