Paul E. Lovejoy (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is Distinguished Research Professor in History, the Director of the Harriet Tubman Research Centre on the African Diaspora, and the Canada Research Chair in African Diaspora History at York University. He is the author of Transformations in Slavery: A History of Slavery in Africa.
