A New Edition of English Battles and Sieges in the Peninsula by Lieut.-Gen. Sir William Napier. This work has been extracted from his Peninsular War volume. William Francis Patrick Napier was a British soldier in the British Army and a military historian. The work explores the combats of Rorica, Vimiero and Coruna and others from the Peninsular War which was the military conflict fought in the Iberian Peninsular by Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom against the invading forces of the First French Empire during the Napoleonic Wars. In prize binding for Cheltenham College. In full calf prize binding. Externally, very smart with some light marks to the boards and a small tear to the leather of the rear board. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown of Cheltenham College. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good
