About This Item
New York: Aperture/ A New Images Book, 1989. Near Fine. FIRST US EDITION. 4to. Original pale yellow cloth, lettered in blind and brown. Light edgwear, dints to bottom edge. Occasional spots, else, clean, bright and tight. In the original illustrated dust jacket: spine gently sunned, creasing and nick to head of spine, light shelf soiling to rear panel., faint foxing to reverse. Still, a lovely copy. Very good/ very good Helen Chadwick (19531996) was a British sculptor, photographer and installation artist, whose subject was herself. More than "a definitive collection of her work," Enfleshings offers a "cumulative, evolving portrait"; it includes Of Mutability, Chadwick's important 1989 solo exhibition. Nominated for the 1987 Turner Prize, Chadwick was an important and innovative figure in the British art world.
