Utrecht: Catharijne Press, 1985. 37pp. One of 250 copies. A reprint of an essay published in 1880 on the evils of cutting up fine books. Includes a frontispiece engraving of the author as well as two engraved illustrations, one preceding the text and one following. Designed by Bram de Does and printed in two colors by Joh. Enschedé en Zonen using Trinité Medium Condensed 2 type, which was specially designed for Enschedé by Does and was the first appearance of the type in a book. Bound by Luce Thürkôw in paste-paper boards, with a paper label on the cover. A fine copy. (2 1/2 by 1 11/16; 63x43mm).
