About This Item

New York: E.P. Dutton, 1929. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Near-fine with a touch of shelf wear, otherwise bright and clean inside and out. In a very good dust jacket with a bit of chipping, mainly at the top of the spine. Lasker was a German chess player, mathematician, and philosopher who was World Chess Champion for 27 years, from 1894 to 1921--the longest reign of any officially recognized Champion in history. In his prime, Lasker was one of the most dominant champions, and he is still generally regarded as one of the strongest players in history. A scarce title, rarely found in dust jacket.
