About This Item

New York: Hill and Wang, 1959. Among the subjects covered are Musical Compositions, Composers, Performers and Performances, Musical Terms, Musical Instruments, History and Background of Music, Theories and Theorists of Music, Literary and Artistic Souces, and many special articles. Around 1500 musical compositions are described. The book is in close to Fine condition, with a Very Good+ dust jacket. The book is bound in black cloth, with a red cloth spine, and gilt spine lettering. The binding is tight and secure. The pages are clean and bright throughout. A former owner's signature is on the front free endpaper. The dust jacket has tiny tears and chips along the edges. I've placed the dust jacket into a Brodart protective sleeve. A small blindstamp circle on the rear panel indicates that this is a BCE. The book measures 5 3/4 by 8 1/2 inches and includes 566 pages.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good+. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
