Paris: Imprimerie de L. Martinet, 1847. Paperback. Very Good. 31, [1] p.; 37 cm. Extrait du Tome XIII des Mémoires de l'Académie Royale de Médecine. "Ch Ravel" written next to title and a note in the same hand on the title page; several additional ink notations in the text. Disbound from a collection of pamphlets owned by French homeopath Dr. Charles Ravel (1822-1887). The author, Frederic Dubois d'Amiens (1797-1873), was a French physician and historian. He became the Royal Academy of Medicine's Secrétaire Perpétuel in 1847, on the death of Étienne Pariset, and served until his own death in 1873. Étienne Pariset (1770-1847) was a French physician who founded the Société Protectrice des Animaux and was a doctor at the Salpêtrière Hospital, where he was the physician for the insane. In Very Good Condition: small dampstain at tail of spine; light foxing, primarily along upper edges and fore-edges of first and last pages; otherwise, clean.
