Bundy Quill & Press, 1930. First Edition. 8vo. Gilt-Debossed Boards. Artist Monograph. Very Good/No Jacket. 52pp, 33 sepia-toned illustrations. In a protective clear acetate dustwrapper. This monograph on the well-known Southern California Plein Air painter Elmer Wachtel was issued shortly after his death in 1929. Bundy Quill & Press first edition this uncommon item that is still the major reference on the artist lacking its dust jacket showing some light soiling to the boards, a bit of spotting to the inside covers, and some typical age-toning to the frontispiece's tissue overlay additionally BEARING THE BOLDLY SIGNED PRESENTATION "Ione Harkness - / from / Marion Kavanagh Wachtel." in brown ink on the blank page facing her portrait of Wachtel.
