Small personal owner signature to title page verso, tiny "No. 40" stamped to front free endpaper lower outer corner; else a very fine, immaculate copy with very faintest of edge-wear. Appears nearly As New.. Octavo in very finely ribbed dark blue cloth with logo, line ornaments and titles stamped in gilt ; marbled edges; 358 p. ; 19 cm. In Norwegian (Norsk). A beautiful copy of the presumed first edition. Scarce thus. Sigrid Undset (1882-1949) is a celebrated female Norwegian novelist ; she received the 1928 Nobel Prize in Literature.
