Collection of verses from the Elizabethan period from such authors as Shakespeare, Drummond, Carew, Herrick, Marlowe, etc., illustrated with black and white tissue-protected plates. Three quarter teal blue-green grained leather binding by Blackwell over marbled boards, raised spine bands with gilt decorated compartments, top edge gilt, about 7.5" tall. Covers rubbed, mainly at the extremities, with a partial "coffee cup" stain to a small area of the front cover, sound binding, clean pages with some foxing to outer edges of frontis plate and title page, small chip from bottom of half-title, no names or other markings.. Hard Cover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
